Upsizing, Downsizing, Broken Noses

Image
In my last post I had a picture of our newest construction project but didn't tell you the details..... this is our new 24 x 24 sheep barn with a feed room for keeping hay and grain close at hand and also plenty of space to set up lambing pens next winter. Here it is with the roof on, still under construction....

Here is a picture of what they are in now, with the new barn in the background-
Definitely a much-needed upsizing for our woolies!

By the way, this is Whitey, our codes inspector.

Last year was a terrible year for our garden... in fact, we've had three tough years in a row trying to grow anything. Last year was very wet and a lot cooler than normal, and the two years before that we were in a drought. We've decided this year to cut the size of our garden way back..... this was the size of it last year before we planted...

Simple Pleasures

Apple Blossoms.....

Using my favorite teapot....

A morning pick-me-up in my favorite mug.....

Watching lambs in the grass....

Chickens at my back door...

Excitement over a new project...

Strumming a new song on an old friend...

Watching Edie play peek-a-boo....

A cool morning breeze through an open window....

What are some of your simple springtime pleasures?

Visitors to my window...

Mr. Cardinal enjoys his breakfast.

Mrs. Cardinal peeps out from the other feeder.

Mr. Flicker is nicely camouflaged, except for the rather large bright red spot on the back of his head...

Mr. Finch enjoys the sunshine.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Finch is talking to Mr. Finch with her mouth full.

Shy Mr. Red Belly is very hard to photograph. You have to be quick the way he scoots up the pole to the suet cake!

Then there are the regulars, who clean up what everyone else drops...
Whitey and Ruthie make sure nothing goes to waste! (I just wish they would stop leaving their waste on the driveway... *sigh*)
Happy Wednesday, everybody!
